Dear Sangha Members and Friends of the Sangha,

Mochitsuki is quickly approaching, scheduled for Sunday, December 14. Orders for kagami (small, ¾ lbs., $8.00) and komochi (10 pieces, $9.00) have been steadily coming in and we continue to accept orders.  Please see our website for ordering and drive-thru pick-up information.

Please place your orders as soon as possible and please encourage your family and friends to place orders, too. The order deadline is Friday, December 12, or until we reach our maximum number of orders.

Volunteers are needed beginning at 7:00 am to approximately 3:00 pm. It’s especially critical we have volunteers in the afternoon hours to ensure we can complete steaming, forming, and cooling the final batches of rice and be ready for the drive-thru pickup (3:30 – 5:00 pm).

We ask that our volunteers follow all our health and safety protocols. Head coverings (i.e., baseball caps, hairnets) and gloves are required while working with the mochi. Please, no food items near the mochi steaming machines, mochi forming lines, and cooling areas. You may choose to wear a face mask but it is optional. Thank you for your cooperation and adherence to the protocols.

Everyone, please come out to volunteer and participate in this special day to highlight the spirit and strong sense of community that makes BCO a welcoming and special place!

We look forward to seeing you at mochitsuki! We are grateful for your support!
